DUNEDIN CLUB.
OTAGO ANNIVERSARY. The inter-house girls' club rooms were gaily decorated last evening, when the Dunedin Club celebrated tlie SGtli anniversary of Otago. Mr. J. W. Shaw was the host, and Mrs. M. W. Dodd, who officiated as liostess, wore a gown of palma violet lace and georgette. Mr. J. Oliver, the president, in a brief speech, welcomed the guests and gave ail account of his recent trip to Canada, the United States and England. Mr. Shaw addressed those present, taking as his subject the early settlement of Otago, outlining the works of the men who established Otago as the seat of Scottish settlement. Ho gave the names of Captain Cargill, a retired soldier, George Rennie, a pioneer from Scotland, Mrs. Kettle and the Rev. Thomas Burns, who had helped in moulding the history of New Zealand.
