LYCEUM CLUB.

About forty members of tlie gardening circle of" the Lyceum Club visited the garden of Mrs. A. M. Seaman, "Waimarama," Shakespeare Road, Takapuna, 011 Tuesday. The garden was ablaze with autumn flowers, high trellises being covered with bouganvillea and flamecoloured bignonia, and paths bordered with zinnias, asters, marigolds and dahlias led to a delightful piece of native bush, through the ferns and trees of which delightful views of the lake were obtained. Later Mr. Welsh's garden and conservatory were visited, where the members found much to interest them. Finally Mrs. Norman Donald's garden and fernery at "Hataitai," Victoria Hoad, were visited, and here the beautifully kept garden was much admired. A wealth of beautiful autumn flowers delighted the members, who were enchanted with the fernery, where many rare exotic and native ferns were to be seen growing under perfect conditions.
