A SELLING MONOPOLY.
REPORTED PLAN IN HUNGARY. The "Magyarsag" reports from wellinformed sources that the Government proposes to remove the selling of newspapers from private hands and create a monopoly. The members of the new association, which would hold this monopoly, would be, without exception, persons who had served in the.war. It is believed that those who at present hold the rights for this branch of trade will be compensated, but it re rumoured that they may stand on their rights and put serious obstacles in: the way of this Government plan. The news of the proposed monopoly has caused a sensation in commercial circles.
