AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.

INVESTMENT STOCKS AND SHARES.

COMPARISONS OF RECENT TRANSACTIONS. TO TUESDAY, JANUARY 30. The following table furnishes a guide to investors. It shows the trend of the market over twelve months for a comprehensive list of securities, at the same time indicating the latest movements, namely, from a week ago to the date of compilation. The rate of interest obtainable to present day purchasers is also presented, the calculations based on the latest dividends. Since last review there has been an easier tone on the market, with slight recession in values in some cases. Business started off very quietly this week. It will be noted from the figures quoted below that most stocks have shown an appreciable advance over the last twelve months, and as dividends are, generally speaking, on a lower basis, the interest return to present purchasers is correspondingly reduced.
