STILL GOING UP.
The promise of the Auckland wool sale in November, which gave heart to th 6 whole Dominion, was sustained at the second sale
to-day.. At the time of writing prices are 25 to 30 per cent above November rates. This is in a line with New Zealand sales in the interval' and with the latest figures from Australia. We must bear in mind the differences between Auckland and southern wool, and the consideration that, as prices rise, there is less expectation of records being made. Wellington's figure of 26d might give rise to false hopes if special circumstances were not weighed. Auckland growers have every reason to feel satisfied. .The rise in November was more than had been expected, and now sellers will probably receive £17 to £18 a bale against £6 17/ at the January sales last year. Nor does there seem to be any sign that these prices will fall in the near future.
