Tlie Hon. J. A. Young, Minister of ■Health, leaves for the South by tha Limited to-night. Mr. H. 0. Wiles returned to Auckland on Saturday after a three weeks' cruise to the Bay of Islands. Mr. W. Russell-Wood left by tlie Limited last evening for Dunedin, where he intends to take up his permanent residence. Sir Walter Carncross, Speaker of the Legislative Council, accompanied by Lady Carncross, left by the Limited last evening on liis return to Taranaki. Mr. James Fletcher, who has been inspecting the granite quarries at Bluff, is now in Dunedin in connection with the building of the new post office. Dr. W. H. Blinman Bull intends leaving Wellington about February 20 on a trip to England. He will sail on the Port Hunter, and expects to be away about six months. Father E. Gallagher, C.M., who for the last eight years has been president of St. Stanilaus' College, Bathurst, New South Wales, has been appointed to the staff of Holy Cross College, Mosgiel. Mr. J. Xeale, local traffic manager, and Mr. A. li. Thompson, manager of the New Plymouth branch of the Union 1 Steam Ship Company, left Wellington for Sydnev by the Monowai on Friday,
