NORTH ISLAND FINALS. The final etage of the North Island croquet championship tournament was reached at Rotorua yesterdny. The weather was fine and much Interest was taken In the fioalo. At the conclusion of play Captain P. h, Hartnell, president of the New Zealand Croquet Council, presented prizes to the successful competitors. lie remarked upon the excellence of the lawns during the tournament. Results :— Open Championship Singles.—Final (best of three games) : Mrs. Kibblewhite beat Gibbß, 20—0, 21—26, 26—18. Open Championship Doubles.—Final: Glbbe and Mrs. Lowe beat Mesdaines Kibblewhite and Ilawken, 20—20. SOUTH ISLAND TITLES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ASHBUBTON, Friday. The croquet championship is now nearing completion. Results: — Open Singles Championship.—First round: Mrs. Cnldow boat 11. A. Penn (Chrietchurchi. 20—IS. 13—26, 2G—23. Ladles' Championship.—First life semifinal : Mrs. Corbett (Dunedin) defeated Mrs. W. E. Caldow (Wellington >. 26—17. First life final: Mrs. W. Taylor (Timarii) beat Mrs. Corbett. 26—12. Second life final : Mrs. Caldow (Wellington) beat Mrs. Watkins (Hastings), 26—9. Final: Mrs. Caldow defeated Mrs. Taylor, 20—0, 26—15. Champion Doubles.—Semi-final: Mrs. Corbett (Dunedin) and Mrs. Bucblcr (Dunedin) defeated Mrs. Caldow (Wellington) and Mrs. Watkins (Hastings), 26—17. The tourney will be completed to-morrow.
