YACHTING.

NORTHCOTE AND BIRKENHEAD

The annual Birkenhead and Northcote regatta, ■which for the past two seasons has been restricted to local boats, is to be conducted this year on the same basis as formerly. The conclusion has been arrived at that it is inadvisable to longer continue the restricted nature of the programme adopted In 1932 and 1933. It has consequently been decided to revert to the open regatta, on similar lines to that held in 1931, when 110 boats competed, this number dropping to some 30 boats in the following year, when the.local regatta was inaugurated.
