AMERICAN VISITOR'S HOBBY. MISSED ANTARCTIC TRIP. (By Telejrraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAWERA, this day. An interesting , passenger in the mono l plane Faith in Australia is young William Orr, who came to New Zealand as a member of the meteorological staff of the Byrd expedition ship Jacob Ruppert,-but who, through' illness, was unable to go south. Hβ is touring New Zealand as a member of the crew of Flight-Lieut. Ulm's monoplane. Mr. Orr's father, Mr. George W. Orr, is president of the Roosevelt Flying Corporation of New York, which controls the famous Roosevelt flying field, with which is associated the names of many world famous fryers. Collecting autographs is one of. young Orr's hobbies. He has had plenty of opportunity to exploit his field, with the result that he possesses the signatures of members of Royal families, including the Prince of Wales. He has the signatures of famous men in all walks of life, and many of world fantous flyers who have used the Roosevelt field. Mr. Orr, juii., is naturally disappointed at missing his chance of visiting the Antarctic, but he hopes to be a member of the next Byrd expedition, which, he states, is being already planned.
