RAILWAY REVENUE.

NET INCREASE OF £153,033.

EIGHT MONTHS PERIOD.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The chairman of the Railways Board to-day announced the financial results of the working of the railways for the four-weekly period ended December 9. The gross revenue showed an increase of £57,015, as compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, and working expenses showed an increase of £1709, resulting in an increase in the net revenue of £55,300. For that portion of the financial year from April 1 to December 9, the gross revenue showed an increase of £108,920, and expenditure a decrease of £44,113, leaving an increase in the net revenue of £153,033, as compared with the corresponding portion of the previous financial year.
