LINERS IN PORT. LITTLE WORK DOING. Over the holiday week there is little work being done on the waterfront Only one large vessel is loading foi overseas, and one overseas cargo is being discharged. Two passenger liners have arrived since Saturday. Monowai arrived from Sydney yesterday, and is berthed at the Queen's wharf. She sails at 7.30 p.m. to-daj for a cruise to Northern beauty spots She is due back on Saturday morning and leaves on the return trip to Sydney the same afternoon. (U.S.S.) Aorangi arrived this morning froir Vancouver, via Honolulu and Suva, am is at the Prince's wharf. . She landec passengers, mails and cargo here, and is sailing at 5 o'clock this evening it continuation of her voyage to Sydney (U.S.S.) Cornwall, which arrived on Saturday afternoon from Liverpool, is berthed al the Queen's wharf to unload the loea! consignments of her general cargo. The vessel cleared Liverpool on November 15 and experienced very stormy weathei during the first week of the voyage After the Azores Islands were passec conditions improved, and generally fail weather was enjoyed for the remaindei of the trip. She will proceed later ii the week to Wellington, Lyttelton Dunedin and Bluff to complete dis charge. (N.Z.S.) Varanger is at Western wharf un loading bulk petrol, and is to sail foi San Francisco to-morrow. (Gilinore Oil.) Rangitata sailed for Wellington or Saturday afternoon to continue dis charging her United Kingdom cargo After loading at Wellington, Bluff Napier and Tokomaru Bay she will return to Auckland on January 1G tc complete, leaving finally three days later for London, via Panama.
