TAKAPUNA JOCKEY CLUB.
THE SUMMER MEETING. The summer meeting of the Takapun? Jockey Club will be held on January 27 and 29, and an excellent programme has been drawn up in connection with the fixture. The chief, event on the first day, the Takapuna Cup, one mile three furlonus and forty yards, is worth 400sovs, while the other items are:—Trial Stakes of lOSsOvs, six furlongs; Orewa Highweight of 125sovs, nine furlongs; Ferry Hack Handicap of 120sovs, seven furlongs; Calliope Handicap of 155sovs, for two-year-olds, five furlongs; Wynyard Plate of 300sovs, seven furlongs (entries closed); Zealandia Handicap of lTOsovs, seven furlongs, and Rangitoto Hack of 150sovs, nine furlongs. On the seconds day the Takapuna Jockey Club Handicap of 300kovs, nine furlongs, is the principal event, while the other races are:— JJoana Hack of 105sovs, six furlongs; Suburban Handicap (open) of 160sovs, five furlongs; Waiwera Highweight of 130sovs, one mile three furlongs and forty yards; Hauraki Plate of 300sovs, nine furlongs (entries closed); Hobson Handicap of 155sovs, for two-year-olds, six flT*i.ings; Anniversary Handicap of 175sovs, seven furlongs, and the Devonport Hack Handicap of 150sovs, six furlongs. Nominations close with the secretary, Mr. R. A. Spinley, on Friday, January 5, at 5 p.m. At the same time final payments are due for the Wynyard Plate and the Hauraki Plate.
