The "Manchester Guardian," dealinff with Empire trade, says: "The more recent cry of 'Justice for the British Farmer,' grows increasingly incompatible with Britain's pressure on the New Zealand farmers to consent to a voluntary cheese quota. "The Milk Marketing Board's scheme piay be endangered if a relatively high price for British cheese is not obtained, but Colonial cheese is an important item in the working class diet owing to its cheapness.
of New Zealand imports, therefore, is undesirable. Also, it would go shake New Zealand's economic life that.it would mean the end of immigration and may lead to ultimate debt default."
