ROBBERY ALLEGED.

! STREET INCIDENT. SUSPECT BEFORE COURT. Late yesterday afternoon a visitor to Auckland complained that ho had been robbed of £24 10/ in Customs Street. The victim was a man aged 62, who comes from the Coromandel district. He alleged that he felt a band near his pocket and caught hold of a man who was near him. Both men struggled for several yards until they reached a doorway. The elderly man was thrown against a wall and received abrasions on the face. Meanwhile the suspect was' held inside the dorway until Detective Wilson arrived and made an arrest. This morning a seaman named Edward Johnson, -ged 37, appeared before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Police Court on a charge of stealing from the person of Michael Brcen, the sum of £24 10/. Accused, for whom Mr. W. Nobel appeared, was remanded to appear on October 26. Bail in one surety of £100 or two of £50 was allowed.
