ENGLAND AND NEW ZEALAND. EFFECT OF MINOR PORTS. The conclusions arrived at by a joint meeting of the exporters' committee, the importers' committee and the Junior Chamber of Commerce on the question of overseas freight rates were -tabled at a meeting of the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce thi3 morning. The meeting did not discuss the findings. The conclusions wcrc:-:-(1) Freight rates New Zealand to .London are lower than freight rates Australia to London. (2) Freight rates London to New Zealand are higher than freight rates London to Australia. (3) Freight rates seem to be higher between New Zealand and London than would be the case but for the multiplicity of calls at minor ports to meet the requirements of the export 'trade.
