INVESTITURE HELD.
NEW ZEALANDERS HONOURED VICE-REGAL CEREMONY. (By Telegrapli.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, tins evening held an investiture at Government House, at which, after presenting the Colonial Auxiliary Forces officers' decoration to Colonel the Honourable John Ranken Reed, C.8.E., his Excellency conferred the honour of knighthood upon Colonel Sir Stephen Allen, C.M.G.. D.5.0., V.D., investing him with the insignia of Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire. and presented to Sir William Perry, Sir Joseph Smith, CLE., and Sir Hugh Acland, C.M.G., C.8.E., F.R.C.S., Royal letters patent, conferrinsr upon them the degree, title and dignity of Knight Bachelor. His Excellency also presented the insignia of the Companion of the Order of' St. Michael and St. George to Messrs. James Marchbanks, J. S. Barton and T. Lindsay Buick, and the badge of Companion" of the Imperial Service Order to Mr. T. B. Strong, M.A., B.Sc. ' The investiture was followed by a reception, at which a large number of guests were presented to their Excellencies.
