RELIEF FUNDS.
FURTHER DISTRIBUTION. £1500 BY MAYOR'S COMMITTEE. A further distribution of £1500 to different social organisations in the city was made at a meeting of the Auckland Metropolitan Relief Committee. The chairman, the Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, stated that the committee's share in the proceeds from a fourth art union, the "Better Times" art union, amounted to £052. He suggested that a distribution of funds should be made at the meeting. He proposed that £500 should be distributed to the relief committees pro rata, and that £1000 should be remitted to the Auckland Social Workers' Association to bo divided among the members of the association at the discretion of the committee. Of that £1000, the total of £800 came from the committee's own funds and £200 from the Governor-General's fund. The Mayor's proposals were adopted. !
