STONE-THROWING.

OFFENCES AT MERCER. Eight boys were charged before the Children's Court at Pukekohe yesterday with throwing stones at insulators at Mercer. Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., in admonishing the boys, said that these offences were becoming far too frequent. A number of boys had appeared before him only last Court day. At the present time boys' parents were passing through times difficult enough without their being further burdened by these thoughtless acts. Another boy had thrown a stone at a passing car, and a complaint had been lodged with the police. It was stated that the boy had been soundly thrashed by his lather. The parents were ordered to pay 1/1 in respect of each child, to defray costs of insulators broken.
