HOLIDAY COURSES.
EDUCATION STUDENTS. The fact that' the Auckland University College is behind the other three colleges of the Dominion in instituting vacation courses in education for the benefit of - extra-mural, particularly country, students was mentioned durin" . a discussion at yesterday's meeting of the University College Council in connection with a set of proposals put forward by the professor of education, Dr. A. B. Fitt. Professor Fitt said the prescribed course for the diploma in education and the Education Department's A certificate involved laboratory and other work, which was difficult of accomplishment by several students, and holiday courses would materially assist, them. The number so affected would probably he a dozen for the first year. The proposals were referred to the education committee.
