BLASTING MISHAP.
OHAEAWAI MAN INJURED. CHARGE IN EYES AND FACE. (By Telegraph.—-Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. Mr H. Biiidon, of Ohaeawai, was admitted to the Kaitaia Hospital yesterday with injuries to the eyes and face as the reeuli of the premature explosion of blasting powder while he was splitposts. The shot appeared to be ineffective, and after giving it considerable time Mr. Bindon approached it. As he drew near the lon- the charge exploded and he received the full blast in the face. The extent of his injuries has not been ascertained, but although his condition is serious his eight is not impaired.
