Result of Pro-Nazi Rioting in Austria. RUBBER BATONS AND BOMBS. (Received 11.30 a.m.) VIENNA, October 16. In consequence of pro-Nazi demonstrations arising out of tlie establishment of a police station at every university to prevent political rioting, the universities of Vienna, Innsbruck and Graz have been closed indefinitely. The police used rubber truncheons to expel the students, some of whom retaliated with smoke bombs. Many arrests were made. FUGITIVE SHOT. ATTEMPT TO LEAVE GERMANY. (Received 12.30 p.m.)

BERLIN, October 16. Herr Eggerstedt, Socialist, formerly Chief of Police, and wlio was previously imprisoned, was shot dead on the Dutch frontier when trying to enter Holland.
