Mrs. J. A. Hanan, of Duncdin, has arrived from Wellington to spend a few dfcys in Auckland, and' is the guest of her sister, Mrs. E. Crockett, Empire Road, Epsom.
Mrs. R. D. Rogers, of Auckland, is in London on a three months' pleasure trip with the Misses K. and M. Fox, who have returned to live in England. Mrs. Rogers, who has taken a flat in Kensington Gardens Square, will return to New Zealand at the end of 1933.
lire. N. A. Jones, wife of the Rev. 11. A. Jones, of Eastern Bengal, was farewelled at the Baptist Assembly yesterday afternoon. She left by train in the evening for Wellington to take the Wanganella for Syd'ney, en route to India by the Moldavia. The two children of Mr. and Mrs. Jones, are loft in the care of a kinswoman in Feilding.
Miss Gladys Lorimer, the Xew Zealand eoprano, was the hostess at a farewell morning coffee recently in Londoh to the Misses Byrne, of Wellington, who have been visiting Europe. Amongst those present were Miss Kitty and Miss Frances Byrne, Mrs. Aineworth, Miss Stella Murray, Miss Merle Millar, Mrs. Primmer, Mrs. Percy Crisp, Mrs. Arthur Kingston, Miss Muriel Darling, Mrs. Wilmot and Miss Grace Wilkinson.
Miss Mabel Mclndoe, who has been in England for 18 months, has just taken up a new post at Bourne Hall, Ewell, Surrey, as special teacher in biology. Miss Mclndoe, who took her B.Sc. at Otago in 1932, has spent most of her time travelling—she has been to Russia —has been teaching since the beginning of the year in a school at Hindhead, a post which she resigned in order to take her present one. Miss Mclndoe has just returned from a vacation spent in the Austrian Tyrol, the Rhineland, Belgium and France.
Dr. and Mrs. Keith Macky, of Auckland, who arrived in England towards the end of July, will leave again for New Zealand in time to be home for Christmas. After spending a week in London, they bought a car, and, travelling through Oxford and Leeds to the English Lakes, Avent un to Scotland. There they spent a fortnight in CuparFife, motoring through Fifesliire and Perthshire, following this by a tour further afield to Loch Lomond, Loch Awe, Oban, Loch Tay and by the new motor road to Inverness on :to the Western Highlands—Ullapool and Gairloch way. On the return journey they visited Nairn, Elgin, Huntly and Aberdeen, Balmoral and Perth. From Rutherglen they intended to motor through Ayr and Dumfriesshire and the Border country. This month Dr. Macky was to, visit., orthopaedic clinics at Liverpool and London. In addition, he ie to take a special interest in surgical tuberculosis clinics at Millport and Hayling Island.
