SEVERE EPIDEMIC.
Serious Influenza Outbreak at Newcastle. ALL BUSINESS AFFECTED. (Received 0.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. There is a mild influenza epidemic in Sydney, but in Newcastle the outbreak is more serious. All businesses are operating with depleted staffs. Over 200 of Lysaghts are affected and the staff of the Newcastle Hospital has suffered severely.
Being prostrated with a serious attack, a father, mother and their five children were unable to leave their bed? to open the door for their doctor, who forced the window and climbed through to his patients.
