WHEAT PRODUCTION.
Reduced Output to Be Debated
At World Conference.
IMPORTERS AND EXPORTERS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, August 17. At tho World Wheat Conference to be opened in London next Monday it is expected that the importing countries will be asked to agree not to increase wheat prices, to endeavour to encourage consumption, and not to create any artificial barriers against wheat or engage in tariff wars.
Also these countries will be asked to seek alternative uses for wheat and to encourage consistent buying throughout.
In return the exporting countries are understood to be willing to agree to a two years' programme to adjust supply to demand, involving a 15 per cent reduction of crops.
In connection with the conference the "Daily Telegraph" says it understands that the terms of the provisional agreement between America, Australia, and Argentina include a reduction of output by 15 per cent and an adjustment of exports to the effective demand in 103334. The Danubian exporting countries are to restrict their combined exports to 54,000,000 bushels in 1033-34 and 00,000,000 bushels in 1934-35.
