BUSINESS IS FAIR. WAIHIS UP TO 25/. BANK OF NEW ZEALANDS EASIEK. At this morning's call bidding was steady, with late values generally maintained. In the mining section Waihis were again in keen demand, and sales were made in the. room, first at £1 4/9 and later at £1 -5/. Blackwatcrs were asked for at £1 12/6. In banking, New Zealands seemed a shade easier, with sellers at £2 9/6 and buyers stopping at sixpence less. Auckland Gas shares were firm, and following yesterday's sale at £1 0/6% there were still buyers at £1 3/6. Buyers • for Colonial Sugars moved up 2/6, to £58 7/6. Amongst unlisted shares New Zealand Perpetual Forests were asked for at £2 2/6. Busy at Noon. Business became fairly brisk as the morning proceeded, and a good list of sales was; recorded at the noon call. Special attention was again directed to the mining section, and Waihis had further sales at £ I 5/, while Blackwaters touched a •newhigh level, with a transaction at £1 13/. Grand Junctions were also firmer, and had a sale dt.3/11. • Amongst; banks the easing tendency noted at the first call was confirmed with a sale at £2 9/3.
