PERSONAL.
Bishop Kempthorne, of Polynesia, arrived from Suva yesterday by IOLe. Dunedin,. and left for Wellington this morning by car to attend a meeting of the standing committee of the General Synod. Captain Henry Raby, of Auckland, who is in England on a pleasure trip, will leave on his. return by the Otranto on September 2. He is spending his time mainly in the Midland counties. Mr. J. Hislop, who for the last 29 years has been headmaster of I lie Napier Central School, will retire at the end of the year. He has been associated with the school for 40 years. Mr. Ernest Turnbull, who is noted for his association with British talking pictures throughout Australia and New Zealand, and who pioneered the allBritieh theatre policy, arrives to-morrow by the Wanganella on a flying visit %o the Dominion.
