Y.M.C.A. BOARD.
The monthly meeting of directors of the Auckland Y.M.C.A. was held last night, Mr. H. G. Fountain presiding. The reports showed good progress in every phase of the work. The membership figures stood at 1508, of which number 720 are under 16 years of age. The physical report showed 17 Association and three Rugby football teams in the field, and 383 members enrolled in the gymnasium classes. The religious work report was that 854 boys and young men were enrolled in 5S weekly religious groups. The boys' division report gave evidence of much activity at both the city and Grey Lynn associations. At Grey Lynn the roll had reached 200. The big brother movement was doing good work with lads who had appeared before the Children s Court, the total number at present being cared for being 70. The finance committee reported that while there was a slight improvement ill funds it would be necessary to make special efforts before the end of the financial year The general secretary, Mr. Drew, stated that the following efforts were in hand:—An inter-departmental queen contost a boys' division thanksgiving week, a sale of work, gym. display and a musical entertainment, and a special effort tor direct gifts. It was decided to hold a president's "At Home" to Christian workers early in September.
