DOMAIN MATCHES. HARBOUR BOARD DEFEATED. WINS TO R.V., GREEN LANE AND PONSONBY. The fifth series of matches in the Auckland City and Suburban Association competition on Saturday provided its chief interest in a limitation o£ high scoring, as the result of generally improved bowling ant', fielding. The Domain wickets were in splendid order. The surprise was the defeat of Harbour Board, who made 172 in reply to Green Lane's first innings of 228 runs. Kerr, for the latter, trundled with disconcerting guile, Breese (55) and A. Dunning (30) being the only batsmen to meet the attack with any confidence. S. Guiniven registered his third century of the season for H.V., wlio gained an easy six-pointer over Invicta, as did Ponsonby (304), who dismissed Mount Albert Old Boys for 110 and 115 runs. The shuffling in positions on the ladder gives R.V. a two-point lead over Harbour Board, with Ponsonby and Green Lane ilext in order. Scores:— R.V. V. INVICTA. INVICTA.
