C. SEDDON IS CHAMPION. There was only a fair attendance of shooters at Pakuranga on Saturdav afternoon, wheh the Auckland Gun Club's claypigeon .championship was shot off with a series of handicap matches. Most of the best shots of the province competed, and with the automatic trap throwing excellent and difficult birds, some good shooting was witnessed. A ten-birds eye-opener match was divided by; C. SJcddon (18yds) and R. H. Bartley (14yds) with the possible. M. Pratt (19yds), C.- E. Hodge (18yds), L. F. Ramsey (17yds), A. Woolven (16yds). W. H. Hazard (15yds) and W. E. Grant (14yds), all shot nine. The ctyb championship of 21 birds, all off lSycls, respited in a win for C. Seddon, who shot the possible. M. Pratt and C. B. Hodge divided second and third money with 20 each. W. H. Hazard, 19 : R. H. Bartley. L. Peters&n, AY. E. Grant, 17. F. E. MeKenzie. 16. were next in order. The winner will hold the Hazard Silver Pheasant -for 12 months, and he also received a trophy from the club. A ten-birds match was divided bv M. Pratt (19yds). C. E. Hodge (18yds), L. Peterson (17yds). .T. Miller (15yds). and R. H. Bartley (14yds), with the possible. The next ten-birds match was divided by C. E. Hodge (IRvds). L. Peterson (17vds), W. E. Grant (16yds). and E. IL Bartley (14vds), with the possible. The, final mat eh, ginicrack/ back two yards every break, produced some great shooting between C. E. Hodge and M.» Pratt, the former winning on the 12th round off 36yds, a record distance for the grounds. C. E. Hodge shot 61 out of a possible 63, M. Pratt, 53 out of 59. R. H. Bartley 53 out of i"S, W. H. Hazard 51 out of 53. C. Seddon 46 out of *51,- L. Peterson 49 out of DS, W. E. Grant .45 out of 51.
