Reid "was represented at the sale by two Whirlwind colts, but neither was sold, and it is not known definitely whether Mr. Reid intends placing them here for an' early education or not. One is a relative to Prince of Orange, and the other to Bainbury. R. Miller has placed Impudent in work again. This fellow dead-heated with Holly Lu last season in a juvenile event at Avondale, but his subsequent trip to Australia did not prove very successful, and he was returned home. During his spell be was added to the list, and has jesumed work in a healthy 9ondition. Impudent is by Brazen—Rosebern, and was bred in Australia, being purchased by J. T. Jamieson, to ,be afterwards sold to Mr. R. A. McLean, a ■partner of Mr. D. J. Davis. Tavefn Knight, has been spelled. This colt, colt developed soreness prior to the Great Northern Foal Stakes, in which lie i was one:-of JfieV-eaclK He took his place in one evsnt"at the sheeting, but did not go well and finished well back. He was allotted only light tasks after the meeting, but when speeded- up in preparation for the Takapuna meeting, again showed signs of soreness.' Tavern Knight's spell may not be of long duration, but he will not be brought in again until he is free from the trouble.
