Did Gregory and McDonald Ever Bowl With It? EDITOR BREAKS INTO VERSE. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, January 20. Columns of letters nre appearing in fJ'G newspapers relating to the legtheory controversy in Test cricket. A surprisingly large number is sympathetic to the Australian viewpoint, contesting the claim that Gregory and McDonald ever bowled with a leg-trap. J. C. Squire, author and editor of the "Mercury," breaks into verse in the "Evening Standard," the last two reading:— "Where is that tough Australian grin? When comrades did you learn to faint ? Can you not take without complaint A dose of your own medicine? « Finish this futile brawl to-day! We won't believe the paradox, A whining Digger funking knocks?' Come on—one up and two to play." 1—
