RANGE OF PRICES.

BROKERS REVIEW THE SALE.

" CONSIDERABLE ADVANCE."

An official resume of the second Auck

land wool sale, held yesterday,.is given hereunder in the report of the Auckland Woolbrokers' Association, which gives details of the range of prices: — There was a full attendance of buyers representative of all woolconsuming countries, and bidding was animated throughout, keen competition coming from all sections of the trade, and purchases were fairly evenly distributed between Bradford and the Continent. A feature of the sale was the good clearance effected, about 95 per cent of the offering being sold under the hammer. The increase in exchange rates announced overnight was reflected in the bidding, but even taking this into consideration, the sale was better than expected, many lines'showing considerable advance over the prices obtained at the last Auckland sale. The rise was greatest for qualities running 44 to 48 counts, especially for anything attractive. The range of prices was as follow, January and December, 1932, prices being shown also for purposes of comparison:— January, December, January, 1933. 1932. 1932. d. d. d. d. d. d. | Corriedalc— Super . 10 to 11 10i to 11 10 Medium . 9 to 10 — SJ to 9i Superfine Halfbrcd, 56-58— 12J 10£ 11 Medium Ilalfbred, 50-56— Super . 10 to 11 9 to 10 8 to 91 Average . 9 to 93 73 to 82 7 to 73 Inferior 7 to 9 6t to 7£ 5J to 6J Coarse Halfbred. 48-50—
