COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS.
NEW OFFICERS ELECTED. Rerret that he could not speak in glowing terms of the finances of the association was expressed by Mr. Ivie Brown, president of the Auckland Commercial Travellers *nd Warehousemen's Association at the annual meeting last evening. He said the main reason for a debit balance was the restricted spending power of members. The annual report and balance-sheet, a summary of which was published in the "Star" on Thursday, were adopted.
After considerable discussion, a motion sponsored by the past secretary, Mr. J. A. Cahill, that any member employed by a firm selling goods to the association to the value of £5 in any month or a total value of £60 a year, should not be eligible to hold office in the general management of the association, was defeated by a large majority.
Officers were elected as follows:- — President, W. H. Prentis; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. J. P. Barber, P. C. Muir and H. C. Watts; honorary treasurer, Mr. T. Farrell; committee, travellers. Messrs. C. C. Cr.eh, 11. E. Burton. H. H. Davy, T. Dickson, A. H. Flatt, W- milligram. P. B. Long, J. McTavish, J. J. Smyth, C. J. W. Taylor; warehousemen, A. W. Beere, G. W. Cox, S. Edwards, I. B. D. Esam, J. Hardwick, H. P. Ibbertson, R. G. Kirkwood, K. G. Stitchbury; auditor, Mr. G. Fleming.
During the evening the annual meet ing of the Auckland Commercial Travellers' Club Company, Ltd. was held, The annual report was adopted.
