YEARLING SALES.

GOOD PRICES REALISED. AVERAGE BETTER THAN LAST YEAR. LIMOND'S STOCK IX" DEMAND. (Special to "Star."') WELLINGTON, this day. The conditions were ideal for the yearling sale at Trenthani yesterday, and there was a large attendance. The presence of a number of Australians made the sale a success. They were keen bidders for the best lots,. frequently 'competing with spirit against eacli other. This was noticeable especially in the case of the highestpriced lot, the Liniond —Homage colt, purchased by J. T. Jamieson at 1175g5, his chief opponent being Mr. E. Moss. Six other Limomls were also bought for New South Wales. The youngsters by this sire made the outstanding 1 prices, five *of his colts averaging 655g5, and three of his fillies 328gs, giving an average for the sire for his eight of 532 , /4gs. Jamieson also bought the highest-priced Chief Ruler, paying 400gs for the Cymene colt, on behalf of Major IJ.1 J . Kerr Smiley, an English visitor. The Paper Money— Rebekah colt topped the Elderslie draft, being bought by Mr. G. X. Magill, of New South Wales, at 22ogs. The Night Raul—Entreaty colt, a brother to Pliar Lap, was passed without a bid, the auctioneer declining to start at less than 500gs, which was not forthcoming.
