Wellington Meeting.

WIN FOR LA MODERNE. Fracas Takes Nursery. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star."! TRENTHAM, this day. The Wellington Racing Club's summer meeting is being brought to a close today at Trentliam. The weather conditions are good, the track is in first-class order, and there is . a good attendance. Chief Line Scores. Palace set the pace in the Mungaroa Higli-weight, with Juggle, Chief Line, .Rocket, and Saltpot always handy, to the straight, where Juggle retired. Chief Line took the lead at the distanco, and, stalling off Rocket, won by half a length. Flower finished strongly to dead-heat with Palace for third place. Cape Fair was next. Rocket finished on well. Kemal Pasha Beaten. Acron and King Tliomond were smartest out in the Trial Plate, but Shining Gold, after being slow away, rushed up to the leaders after two furlongs, where Tea Garden and Morrath were just behind the original leaders. Cardinal Moon and Kemal Pasha joined in at the entrance to the straight, Cardinal Moon beating Kemal Pasha, by a neck. Cape of Good Hope stayed on to beat, the tiring Shining Gold near the post. Shining Gold appeared to be unlucky. Kemal Pasha ran a good race after being slow away. Top Weight Wins. Royal Bengal set the early pace in the January Handicap, and was still in front at the entrance to the straight, where a big bunch was going well behind him. Ranelagli and Hula Belle looked dangerous at the distance, but failed to run gn. Martian Chief finished well, but just failed to stall off La Moderne by a head. Royal Bengal was over a length away, with Gay Court and Shatter next. La Poupce fell after going a little over two furlongs? but her rider, K. Voitre, escaped unhurt.
