COMMONWEALTH LOANS.
SUBSCRIPTION DETAILS. The subscription list of this £8,000,000 loan was closed on December 5, by which date £5,086,000 had been subscribed, says "Jobson's Investment Digest. Of this total £2,986,000 was subscribed by the general public and £2,100,000 by the banks. The Commonwealth Bank and the Australian trading banks underwrote the loan, and therefore will have to find the balance of the money. The number of subscriptions was 4151. The subscriptions by the general public were made up as follows: — , No. of Amount State. Applications. Subscribed. The figures in the above table refer to the State in which the money was lodged.
