BITTEN. — (1) The amount has been made up and passed by the Registrar of the Supreme Court according to the scale of costs awarded by the court. It' you do not comply, with the notice you may be made bankrupt. (2) You nifty search the judgment for the information you seek . The amount you mention would easily be reached iu costs. (3 and 4) You are entitled to an itemised account from your own solicitors. It' you think the account excessive you may have it. taxed <>r settled by the Registrar of the Supreme Court. Whenever you call on a solicitor and take up his time, or the time of his staff, be may charge you. He has only a limited amount of time in which to earn a living, and if his clients call on him all day he must charge lliem whether lliey actually seek advice or merely talk about the weather, or else go out of business. You would not, however, be charged 10/6 for a casual call such as you mention. If you care to send me tindetailed account when you receive it I will gladly advise whether it is worth the expense of taxing. PUZZLED. —You are not entitled to possession of the furniture. Your sole remedy is to sue for Ilie balance. The agreement is not an effective hirepurchase agreement. RECORDS.—A debt more than six years old cannot be enforced, unless within the past six years you have either paid money on account or acknowledged the debt in writing. MOUNT ROSKILL. —The widow's pension is payable only to widow's with young children. You may be eligible for the old age pension, hut I rather think your grazing land is too highly valued, making you ineligible. W.H.R.—Men pay 1/ in the £ 1 on all income other than salary or wages. Women pay on the excess over £ 20. BETTER TIMES.—I cannot advise whether the order is revocable or not unless you supply a copy. Why not apply for relief under the Mortgagors' Relief Act? HEALTH. —Apply at the Department of Health or at the local hospital board. J.F.B. —-The landlord is under no obligation. If the tenant does not like the place lie should leave. VENDOR. —On selling, the vendor will probably have to pay either for the head-lessor's consent or for a new lease, agent's commission, and his solicitor's fees. The buyer pays for a new title and stamp duty. DEPOSIT. —If you give notice to the buyer of your intention to re-sell, and he"does not within a reasonable time— say one week —pay the price, you may re-sell.
