THE DUNEDIN MEETING. SOME USEFUL SPRINTS. (By Telegraph.—l'l-ess Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. A strong wind was blowing at Wingatui this morning during training operations. On the Grass. * Lord Argosy and Princess Argosy ran six furlongs in 1.19, Gold Dress and line Weather taking 1.20. Cleaver and Bell Hill 1.21, Blue Hill and Colonel Quex 1.22, and Gold Paper 1.19 4-5. Fair Weather ran four furlongs in 595, and June the Third five in 1.4. Gold Boy covered the last three of four furlongs in _39.5. Reminder ran six furlongs in 1.22 2-5, and Shipshape five in 1.8 2-5. Bold Brigand and Witch of Erin covered four furlongs in 1.0 1-5. Tippling and Red Racer ran a mile in 1.49 3-5. Solanum and Ruling Pan covered five furlongs on the plough in 1.7, Blue Metal and Daring Deed taking 1.8 2-5. Ilkley and Accumulate traversed six furlongs in 1.21 2-5, and Shock ran the last three of four furlongs in 455, Amy Johnson aud Mobile also doing tlie last three of four furlongs in 435.

AT TE RAPA. HORSES FOR THE SOUTH. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") HAMILTON, this day. The work at Te Rapa to-day was all performed on the plough, which provided fast going. Beau Iris.i easily defeated Potoa Lad over five furlongs in 1.4. Limex just held off Pelting over a similar distance in 1.3. Valpai led Wilton over six furlongs in 1.17. ■L'Allegro. Senorita, Trowbridge, Sub-Editor and Ruby Dawn worked solidly over a distance. M. J. Carroll leaves for Palmerston North to-day with iMganelli and Holly Holm. A. P. Brady will take Beau Irish and L. Everson Valpai to New Plymouth tomorrow. All these horses are very well. Royal Visitor will be ail absentee from the Ellcrslie meeting.
