SUCCESS ABROAD.
Miss Daphne Deane, the J el £ known Australian repertory a > now in Paris, where, with the assistance of Victorien Sardou (grandson of the famous dramatist), she is working to establish an experimental theatie. This theatre is to be a presentation house for the Moliere-Lully corned) ballets, with 17th century character. Chief organiser, Miss Deane, has gatherec around her some of the best-known repertory performers in Paris. The ballet master is no less a person than Slavinsky, a principal dancer at the Opera Comique (he came to kew Ze.land with the late Pavlova). Miss Deane plays parts and acts in the capacity ot chief director. Her training under Mr. Greo-an McMahon well qualifies her tor the°dual task. An excellent actress,lll certain kinds of character roles. Miss Deane was the ablest ballet directress ever associated with Mr. McMahon. Sue is also a talented pianist.
