UNDER CONTROL.

SMALLPOX AT COLOMBO. (Received 9.30 a.m.) COLOMBO, December 20. There are 36 cases of smallpox to date. The situation is under perfect control. The port surgeon is of the opinion that it is absolutely safe for tourists to land if they are vaccinated. All ships' workers and agents are vaccinated, and no person is allowed to board vessels unless vaccinated. Ships entering the port are warned by the authorities, and passengers are advised that it is unsafe to land unless vaccinated, but there are no restrictions regarding the landing of visitors. There was a lull in the week-end as only one case was reported.
