« CLEAN-UP » SUGGESTED. HARBOURMASTER TO REPORT. Expressing the opinion that the paddle steamer Wakatere lying in Shoal Bay was a menace, the Takapuna Borough Council, in, a letter to the Harbour Board yesterday, asked that the vessel be removed. Mr. H. R. Mackenzie said that there were far too many vessels lying in the harbour, and he thought it was time some attempt wae made to effect a "clean-up." An unsightly appearance was given to the harbour by such vessels. On the motion of Mr. Mackenzie it was decided to instruct the harbourmaster to furnish a report. It was also decided to reply to the Takapuna Borough Council that the Harbour Board's interests were always looked after and action taken when necessary.
