MR. H. L. TAPLEY, C.M.G.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. The death has occurred of Mr. Harold Livingstone Tapley, C.M.G., at the age of 57 years. Mr. Tapley was an Adelnide boy and only returned hiet week from a visit there. He was Mayor of Dunedin during tho exhibition, when he wae made a C.M.G. Standing for Reform at the 1925 election Mr. Tapley beat Mr. T. W. Muiiro, the Labour candidate, for Dunedin North, the latter dofeatiug him at the next election. Mr. Tapley was a director of A. and T. Burt, Ltd., was a prominent volunteer officer in hie day, and was agent for the Oceanic and Oriental Navigation Company. He suffered from heart trouble.
