OBITUARY.
MR. SYDNEY A. SMITH,
A well-known Auckland business man, Mr. Sydney Alfred Smith, of Parnell, died on December 17, aged *>0 years. He was a partner in the firm of S. A. Smith and Company, Ltd., druggists, of Albert and Stanley Streets. Mr. Smith was born in Auckland, and educated at the old Queen's College, afterwards qualifying as a pharmaceutical chemist. Later he went to Christchurch, where he became partner in the firm of G. W. Bennett and Compaiu-, manufacturing chemists. Fifteen years ago the firm was reorganised and transferred to Auckland under the name of S. A. Smith and Company. Mr. Smith belonged to the Northern Club, and also to the Auckland Club. He was a member of the Middlemore Golf Club for many years, and at one time eat on the Pharmacy Board. He is survived by his widow and two brothers, Mr. Charles Smith, of St. Plelier's Bay, and Mr. Arthur E. Smith, of Mount Hobson Road, Kemuera.
