LOWER' REVENUE RECORDED. Returns for other principal ports are as follow: — Wellington.—The revenue collected in Wellington during November totalled £178,028, against £204,961 in November, 1931, a decrease of £20,033. For the eleven months of the current year the revenue totals £1,893,174, against £2,074,554 in the corresponding period last year. Following are the details, the figures for last year being given in parentheses: —Motor spirit: November, £51,976 (£42,405); eleven months, £532,287 (£475,488). Tyre tax: November, £2332 (£1175); eleven months, £17,816 (£22,201). Beer duty: November, £7976 (£5799); eleven months, £57,492 (£48,902). Christcliurcli. —The removal of the surtax on British goods, which took effect from October 14, accounts in some measure for the decreased Customs returns for the port of Christchurch, which were lower by £9657. Details are as follow, the figures for last year being given in parentheses: —Customs, £57,604 (£07,321); beer duty, £8556 (£8381); petrol tax, £17,142 (£13,587); tyre duty, £1030 (£709). For the eight months of the financial year the returns are:— Customs, £477,925 (£465,027); beer duty, £55,040 (£56,301); petrol tax, £124,947 (£151,610); tyre duty, £5754 (£7410).

Dunedin.—Returns for Dunedin for November are as follow, figures for November, 1931, being given in parentheses:—Net Customs, £43,325 (£49,191); beer duty, £24,UC4 (£22,356); petrol tax, £13,243 (£10,528); tyre duty, £473 (£571). ■
