CUSTOMS REVENUE.
NOVEMBER FIGURES LOW. INCREASE FOR YEAR. Customs duties collected at Auckland last month returned £4037 less than November of last J ear, but the total amount for the past eleven months to still £378,505 in excess of that tor ibq same period of 1931. The total for last month was £169,970, as compared with £158,863 in October, bringing the total for the past eleven months to £1,795,101. Petrol and tyre duties returned last month £43,434, which is £5483 more than was collected in the same month of last year. From these sources £438,164 has been collected this year, as compared with £480,518 last year. Tyre tax, petrol tax and Customs duties together returned £212,402, compared with £211,958 in November of last year, while the total for the past eleven months is £2,233,205, which is £336,151 more than the amount that was returned in the same period of last year. Excise duty on beer collected in November totalled £13,009, compared with £10,509 in November, 1931,, an increase of £3000. During the JanuaryNovember period of the current year beer duty amounted to £112,217, against £94,268 in the corresponding period last year, an increase of £17,949.
