WAR GRAVES.
ISSUE OF CIRCULARS. IXQUTRY BY GOVERNMENT. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this clay. Inquiries are being made by the Government as to circulars which are being distributed throughout the Dominion from iin organisation known the Overseas Ex-Servicemen's Association requesting the payment of 2/6 for a certificate and also offering to supply wreaths for placing on the graves of New Zealand soldiers at from 3/6 to 7/(1. The subject -was raised in the House yesterday by Mr. W. Nash (Labour, Hutt), who asked the Minister of Internal Affairs, to have the circulars investigated. He said that the address of the organisation was given as Place d'Armes, Albert, Somnie, France. He was of the opinion that the parents of deceased soldiers should be notified that the War Graves Commission is taking all the steps necessary to ensure that the graves are kept in proper order and no remittance should be sent to any organisation overseas until full inquiries have been made by the Minister.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Hamilton, said that he was having inquiries made and when they were complete, he would communicate with Mr. Nash. Mr. Nash: Will yon let tho parents know through the Press that they are not to send money. The Minister: I will look into it.
