SALES OF PROPERTY.
LITTLE DOING IN CITY
PRICES STILL TOO HIGH.
A statement made by a land agent in Chrieteliurch last week to the effect that there was a good demand for mediumeizcd homes in that city and that there was some difficulty in finding properties to meet the demand, is not at present applicable to Auckland. Land agents to-day said there was practically no sign of such a demand in Auckland, except for small farms. One said: "There ie practically nothing doing here. There is a possible gleam of hope in the country, since we've had inquiries for small farms."
Another land agent was more optimistic, sayiug that his firm had made a few sales lately of medium-sized properties. The prices were low, but were coneistent with the state of the market. More properties could be soid if owners would only make their prices more reasonable. "The prices are not right," a third agent agreed. There was, he remarked, a demand for small farms up to 100 neres.
