BRITISH ART EXHIBITION.

A large section of the art-loving public took advantage of the holiday yesterday to view and enjoy the exhibition of British contemporary art now being shown at the Kitchener Street Gallery. The following works have been purchased from the exhibition in Auckland:— "Tente in Peril, St. Jlalo." by W. Russell Flint, A.R.A.; "March Morning—Near La morn a," by 8. J. Lamorna Birch. A.R.A.; "Bright Morning, Honfieur," by Tenick Williams, A.R.A., and "Near Aruntlel." by Gerald Ackermann, R.T. The exhibition will contini;| this week in the day time and will be open to-night, Thursday and Friday nights.
