AVERNUS WINS CHIEF HANDICAP. (By Telegraph..—Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, Monday. The second day of the Greymouth Trotting Club's meeting was held to-day in fine, cold and windy weather. The attendance was fair and the track was in good order. The totalisator handled £7521 for the day, against £10,158 on the second day last year, making the total for the meeting £13,320, aganist £17,305 last year. Later results are:— Hurricane Handicap (Saddle) of 80sovs. eight furlongs and a hnlf, limit 2.20.—1 Harvest Earl, limit (Maidens) 1; 1 Raywood, 24yds (Nyhan). 2; 2 Blngen Spiers HOyds (King), 3. The first and second horses were bracketed. Also started: 5 Olson, limit ■ 9 Sissisox, 12yds; 4 Dawn Sonoma, 24yds; 3 Chancellor Boy. COyds. Three lengths; length and n half. Dawn Sonoma was fourth. Times : 2.33, 2.34 3-0, 2.34. Labour Day Handicap of 150sovs, fourteen furlongs and 100 yards, limit U.5C.— 1 A vermis, 84yds (King), 1; 4 Autowin, 24yds (Albon), 2; 5 Travis Thorn, 12yds (riurnin), 3. Also started: 3 Rare Pronto, 24yds; 6 Dark Denver, 48yds (fell); 2 Plain Silk, 24yds. Half a length; threequarters of a length. Rare Pronto was fourth. Dark Denver lost his driver after a furlong. Time, 4.12 4-5. Cobden Handicap of SOsovs, twelve furlongs and a half, limit 3.43.—1 Golden Direct, 12yds (If. G. Holmes), 1; 3 Trada, limit (I* Berkett), 2; 2 Peter Junior, limit (J. Kennerley), 3. Also started: 5 Happy Bird (fell). 0 Admiral Wra'-k, limit; 4 Fernbrook Lass, 24yds (fell). Ten lengths; fifteen. The placed horses were the only ones to finish. Times: 3.46 2-5, 3.31, 3.57. Gieseking Handicap (Trotters) of SOsovs, about fourteen furlongs, limit 5.11. —3 Worthy Star, limit (Durnin), 1; 4 Resound, limit (F. G. Holmes), 2; 1 Honeymoon, 3Cyds (Alborn), 3. Also started: 7 Patchmaw, limit; 5 Harvest Dillon, 2 Andy N., 24yds; 6 Clive Casey, 3Gyds. Threequarters of a length ; four. Patchmaw was fourth. Times: 4.37 3-5, 4,37 4-5, 4.36 3-5. A protest against'the winner for alleged pacing was dismissed. Greymouth Handicap of 160sovs, twelve furlongs and a half, limit 3.24.—10 Mountain Ore, limit (Maidens), 1; 2 Kelp, limit (Kennerley), 2; 9 Pluto, 48yds (King), 3. Also started : 11 Editor, 7 Royal Drusus, limit; 4 Mac Dillon, S Baron Bingen, 1 Raydus, 5 Festival, 12yds : 5 Harvest Child, 24j'ds ; 3 Muriel de Oro, 36yds. Two lengths ; one. Raydus was fourth. Times: 3.35, 3.85 2-5, 3.32. Drusus withdrew in the Jirst round owing to !i broken sulky. . Whirlwind Handicap of 90sovs, ten furlongs and a half, limit 2.57.—1 Flying Cloud, 24yds (McDerniott), 1; 4 M,>Hy Desborough, 12yds (F. Price), 2; 2 Silver Blngeu, ;j6yds (Kennerley), 3.
