The Federal Reserve Board report indicates that September was the most favourable month for a long peripd. It included an extensive reduction in bank failures, decreasing currency hoarding and an increase stocks'of monetary gold reaching 4,200,000,000 dollars. There were only 65 bank failures in September. i
